| This study aimed to analyze top four private television stations in Turkey from two aspects, which were determined by the literature review of television’s effects on adults. These aspects were; 1) Violence and, 2) Sex stereotyping content of prime time broadcastings on television. Firstly, the one week prime time broadcastings of top four private television stations recorded. Then; these recorded broadcastings were analyzed according to violence and sex stereotyping criteria which were created based on the related literature review. Lastly; the findings of the research was listed and analyses was done with respect to frequencies of the findings for violence and sex stereotyping separately. At the end; the findings of this study demonstrated that; the violence and sex stereotyping content of Turkish private television stations was very huge both in amount and the effect. | |||
