The intersection of literature and translation presents a vibrant arena for cultural exchange, linguistic intricacies, and societal reflections. Within this context, translated literary works not only facilitate cross-cultural dialogue but also offer insights into the socio-cultural dynamics of the respective societies. Through the lens of translation sociology, which explores the impact of social, cultural, political, and economic factors on translation practices and their reciprocal influence on social structures and interactions, this study aims to examine the translation and representation of Turkish literature in the Francophone and Anglophone worlds between 1999 and 2008. By systematically compiling and categorizing translations, the study intends to unveil patterns in which works are translated in different linguistic and cultural contexts. Additionally, through a comparative approach, the research seeks to illuminate the influence of cultural, linguistic, and socio-political elements on the selection of Turkish literary works in France and England, highlighting both commonalities and disparities. This investigation seeks to contribute to current debates in translation studies, comparative literature, and cultural sociology. As a result of this study, it has been found that the number of translations from Turkish into French and English, that is, from a peripheral to central languages, is quite low and the diversity of the translated genres is extremely poor.
