AZERBAYCAN’IN TURİZM SEKTÖRÜNÜN YEŞİL EKONOMİ ÇERÇEVESİNDE İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Küresel iklim değişikliği ve çevresel bozulmalar turizm sektörünün yeşil ekonomi perspektifinden değerlendirilmesini sektörün sürdürülebilirliği açısından önemli hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Azerbaycan turizminin yeşil ekonomi ve sürdürülebilirlik çerçevesinde analiz etmektir. Ayrıca, Azerbaycan turizm sektörünün GSYİH’ye katkısı, istihdama etkisi ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma potansiyeli incelenecektir. Çalışmada, veriler ikincil kaynaklardan literatür taraması yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, konu ile ilgili olarak mevcut durumu analiz etmek için SWOT analizi yapılmıştır. Yapılan literatür taraması ve SWOT analizinin sonuçlarına göre; Azerbaycan, zengin doğal kaynaklara ve turizm potansiyeline sahip olmakla birlikte yeşil ekonomi ve sürdürülebilir turizm alanlarında altyapı, yatırım, tanıtım ve çevre bilinci eksikliği gibi zayıf yönleri bulunmaktadır. Bununla birlikte yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına yatırım, kurtarılan bölgelerin turizm potansiyelini değerlendirme, uluslararası iş birlikleri, dijitalleşme ve yeşil ekonomi uygulamalarını geliştirme fırsatları mevcuttur. Bunların yanı sıra iklim değişikliği, doğal afetler, bölgesel istikrarsızlıklar ve sürdürülebilir turizm başarısızlıklarından kaynaklanan tehditler de göz ardı edilmemelidir. Çalışmadaki analizin sonuçlarının, Azerbaycan’ın turizm sektörünün geliştirilmesi ve sürdürülebilir hale getirilmesi için politika önerilerinin oluşturulmasına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Analysis of Azerbaijan's Tourism Sector within the Framework of Green Economy

Öz

Global climate change and environmental degradation have made the evaluation of the tourism sector from a green economy perspective important for the sustainability of the sector. The aim of this study is to analyse Azerbaijan tourism within the framework of green economy and sustainability. In addition, the contribution of Azerbaijan’s tourism sector to GDP, its impact on employment and its sustainable development potential will be analysed. In the study, data were obtained from secondary sources through literature review. In addition, a SWOT analysis was conducted to analyse the current situation in relation to the subject. According to the results of the literature review and SWOT analsın, although Azerbaijan has rich natural resources and tourism potential, it has weaknesses such as lack of infrastructure, investment, promotion and environmental awareness in the fields of green economy and sustainable tourism. However, there are opportunities to invest in renewable energy resources, to evaluate the tourism potential of recovered regions, to develop international cooperation, digitalisation and green economy practices. In addition, threats from climate change, natural disasters, regional instability and sustainable tourism failures should not be ignored. The results of the analysis in the study are expected to contribute to the formulation of policy recommendations for the development and sustainability of Azerbaijan’s tourism sector.
