| 1606-1611 yılları arasında vezir-i âzamlık yapan Kuyucu Murad Paşa, Osmanlı tarihinin mühim şahsiyetlerindendir. Uzun yıllar Mısır eyaletinde çeşitli vazifeler yaptıktan sonra Osmanlı Devleti’nin neredeyse hemen her bölgesinde beylerbeylik yapmış, daha sonra vezirlik rütbesine yükselmiştir. Avusturya cephesi serdarı iken 1606 yılındaki Zitvatorok Anlaşması’nın müzakerelerini yürütmüştür. Kısa bir süre sonra ise vezir-i âzam olmuştur. Kuyucu Murad Paşa’yı ön plana çıkaran tarihi olaylar ise devleti uzun yıllar meşgul eden ve özellikle Anadolu’da çok tehlikeli hal alan Celâli İsyanları’dır. Şiddetli yanlısı tedbirlerle bu isyanları bastırmada muvaffak olan Murad Paşa, aynı zamanda bozulmuş olan nizamın yeniden tesisi için uğraşmıştır. Bu maksatla idari ve hukuki ıslahatlara giriştiği gibi bozulmuş askeri yapının yeniden eski haline getirilmesi için de raporlar hazırlatmıştır. | |||
| Kuyudju Murad Pasha, who was a grand-vizier between the years 1606 and 1611, is one of the the most significient figures of the Ottoman history. After conducting various duties in Egypt province for long years, he become governer in almost every region of Ottoman State, and later he was given the vizier title. While he was the commander in chief in Austria frontline, he carried out the negatiations of Zitvotorok treaty in 1606. A short-time later, he became the grandvizier. The historical events that brought Kuyucu Murad Pasha to the forefront were the Jelali Riots that had engaged Ottoman state for long years and became very dangerous especially in Anatolia. Having achieved to quell the continvance of the riot with the help of severe precautions, Kuyucu Murad Pasha tried hard to maintain the order that was spoiled under the thumb of these events. With these purpose he not only made administrative and financial reformations, but also tried to revise the military structure that was spoiled during those years. | |||
