Because of the extensiveness beside associated negative outcomes, traumatic experiences are accepted as serious public health issues. In this article, examination of certain differences of the solution-focused approach in trauma intervention with traditional approach that directly focuses trauma experience via related literature is targeted. It is thought that the topic worth to examine regarding clinical practice and the potential to lead future researches. Even though traditional approaches argues the importance of talking about details of trauma, the literature which points out the effectiveness of solution focused approaches that focus exceptional times and accomplishments of client after trauma attracts attention. Besides, in the literature the possible adverse negative outcomes of traditional trauma focused interventions have been highlighted. When the potential of trauma exposure to create adverse mood condition with overwhelming feelings of helplessness and/or hopelessness is considered, it became obvious that the solution focused approach, -which focus on the construction of hope, and empowering the client- will bring more outcomes that are successful for most of the cases. Besides, it can be said that the effectiveness studies in related literature regarding trauma interventions via solution focused approaches are parallel with this conclusion.
